Does Tom’s of Maine use bleaching agents?
No, Tom’s of Maine uses sustainably sourced silica from sand and mini rocks instead of harsh chemical bleaching agents to whiten teeth. When you mix water with your Tom's of Maine Whole Care Toothpaste, the silica breaks down and works hard to scrub away stains without destroying enamel.
All the ingredients in this powerful paste are naturally derived and free of BPA, gluten, fake colors, fragrances, and preservatives. And this paste, like other Tom’s of Maine products, is never tested on our furry friends.
Is fluoride healthy?
Lately, fluoride has been getting a bad rap, but it’s unwarranted. The American Dental Association (ADA) says that fluoride is a safe way to prevent tooth decay and control tartar buildup. So, the real question should be, what do you prefer? If you're looking for a an option without fluoride, check out Grove's entire selection of natural toothpaste.
Let’s close the loop on packaging to ensure it doesn’t end up in landfills or oceans
TerraCycle® and Tom’s of Maine have partnered to create a national recycling program for typically hard-to-recycle waste streams. Reduce your impact on our planet - participation is simple and free.
Mouthwash bottles and caps, toothbrushes, deodorant containers and caps, soap packaging, floss containers, and toothpaste tubes and caps can be recycled through TerraCycle®.
How to Start:
1. Create a Terracycle account. This is mandatory for participation and allows you to track your recycling and impact.
2. Collect your empties - no need to even rinse them out - and put them in an eco-friendly envelope, box or other container. Reuse packaging you already have for mailing.
3. Request and print your label from Terracycle.com
4. Ship!
