Founded by Josh and Aaron, two fathers who realized their parenting skills should extend to the planet itself, Climate Karen fights climate change with both science and sass. Partnering with Climeworks, they permanently remove CO₂ from the air through direct air capture – while also calling out big polluters. Because tackling the climate crisis takes both cutting-edge solutions and the relentless energy of someone who insists on speaking to the manager of climate change.

How does CO₂ removal work? Climeworks uses large fans to pull air into CO₂-sticky filters that capture the atmospheric carbon. When the filters are full, the CO₂ is released using geothermal heat, turned into a liquid (much like your sparkling water), and then injected deep underground where it naturally turns into stone. This permanently removes carbon from the air which, when combined with emissions reductions, helps companies and individuals reduce their climate impact (source).
