PATENTED SEVEN-ZONE SUPPORT
Our patented seven-zone innerspring (U.S. Patent No. 11,627,813) is built in-house from recycled steel with up to 1,379 individually wrapped coils. Four zones reinforce the perimeter — both long sides plus the head and foot — and three vary firmness by body region, using three distinct wire gauges. The firmest coils run through the hip and lumbar zone and across both ends; softer coils let the shoulders and legs settle in for pressure relief; narrow high-tensile coils border the long sides. Each pocketed coil moves independently to distribute weight, relieve pressure points, and reduce motion transfer.

Mattress Setup & Care:

Before You Begin:
Organic latex, wool, and steel coils make the mattress heavier than conventional foam mattresses. For Queen, King, and California King sizes, two people are recommended for setup.

Most Avocado mattresses arrive compressed and rolled for easier transport. Some models, including the Luxury Organic, Grand Luxe, and Extra Firm, ship flat with in-home delivery and setup included.

Tip: Move the box into the room where the mattress will be used before opening it. Once expanded, the mattress cannot be re-compressed.

Unboxing Instructions:
Open your mattress within 30 days of delivery to help ensure proper expansion.

  1. Open the shipping box from the top.
  2. Lay the box on its side and slide the mattress out.
  3. Carefully remove the outer Kraft paper or plastic wrapping.
  4. Leave the inner vacuum-sealed plastic intact while unrolling the mattress.
  5. Unroll and position the mattress on your bed frame, foundation, adjustable base, platform bed, or floor, leaving enough space for it to fully expand.
  6. Carefully cut and remove the inner transparent vacuum-seal layer. The mattress will begin expanding immediately.

Expansion:

  • Within 30 Minutes: The mattress should be close to full size and ready to sleep on.
  • Within 3–5 Hours: The mattress should reach full expansion. To help speed up expansion, gently lift and shake each corner.
  • Within a Few Days: Wrinkles in the cover should naturally smooth as the materials settle.
  • Within 30 Days: Minor size variations should typically resolve as the organic cotton cover relaxes and the latex naturally expands.

Proper Support:
Place the mattress on a rigid, supportive surface capable of supporting the combined weight of the mattress and its users.

For third-party frames:

  • Slats must be no more than 5 inches apart.
  • Slats must be at least 2.5 inches wide.
  • Queen, King, and California King sizes require at least one center support leg.

Rotation:
Rotate the mattress from head to toe once a month for the first 6 months, then at least every 6 months thereafter. Regular rotation helps promote even wear and maintain comfort and support over time.
